British Commissioner commiserates with Buhari over Kyari's death

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing has commiserated with President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari on the death of his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

Catriona who interfaced with the deceased described him as an open and honest man with a tireless commitment to Nigeria.

Wishing the President and the families of the bereaved solitude, she reminded Buhari that her thoughts are with Kyari's family.

"I engaged regularly with Abba Kyari in his capacity as Chief of Staff to the President and greatly valued our open, honest and frank dialogue. He brought spirit, tenacity and a tireless commitment to his beloved Nigeria.

"He was highly respected in the international community as a passionate champion of Nigeria's interests. May his soul rest in peace," Laing said.

Abba Kyari died in a Lagos hospital on 17 April 2020, after testing positive for COVID-19.
