The Nigerian Air Force has denied reports stating it has taken delivery of the first batch of A-29 Super Tucano attack jets ordered by Nigeria from the US.

Edward Gabkwet, spokesperson for the NAF in a statement on Thursday, July 8 said all reports relating to this must be disregarded

Gabkwet stated that jets have not yet arrived and promised to update the press when the planes are delivered to the country.

He said: "This story being circulated on the arrival of the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft in Nigeria. It is false as the aircraft is yet to arrive in the country. I will keep you updated."
