Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad speaks on extension of lockdown period

Bashir Ahmad Bashir Ahmad

Bashir Ahmad, an aide to the President on New Media, has advised Nigerians to stay safe at home as they await communication on the lockdown period which expires today.

The lockdown was declared 14-days ago by the President, Maj. Gen, Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), as a measure towards curbing COVID-19.

With the period expiring today, and with coronavirus cases in the country increasing by the day, Nigerians are waiting to know if the lockdown period will be extended.

Clearing the air on the issue, Bashir Ahmad advised Nigerians to maintain safety ahead of when the regime's next step on the issue will be communicated.

He said, ”I can see a lot of questions on whether there will be an extension of the lockdown in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun or not, with the initial 14 days expiring tonight.

”Nigerians will be properly communicated on the next step.

”For now, as President @MBuhari appealed, stay safe at home.”
