The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra has called on the apex body of the Igbo, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, to key into its agenda of seceding from the country.

MASSOB disagreed with the position of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, which had insisted that the people of the South-East and South-South would not break away from Nigeria.

Speaking in an interview with The Punch on Tuesday, the National Director of Information, MASSOB, Mr Sunday Okereafor, said, “Prof. Obiozor is saying that he doesn’t want Biafra. But MASSOB is telling him that on Biafra we stand. He (Obiozor) said he helped to bring Odumegwu Ojukwu back home; does he want Ojukwu’s dream to die?

“Obiozor and Ohanaeze should key into the main agenda of MASSOB, which is to get a sovereign state of Biafra, rather than saying that they don’t want a breakaway from Nigeria.

“Ohanaeze is currently working with the Nigerian government, even when we are saying we want freedom for the Igbo, freedom for our children, freedom for our youths and our children unborn.”

The MASSOB spokesman added that it would be difficult for the people of the South-East and South-South to enjoy freedom as Nigerians.
