NIDCOM boss vows to seek justice for Nigerian murdered in India

The Chairman of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri, has vowed to investigate the case of a Nigerian man beaten to death in India.

The Nigerian businessman, popularly called Sunny Mike, was beaten to death on Wednesday, May 27, at Palam, New Delhi.

It was gathered that the businessman was accused of theft by an Indian lady which prompted passers-by to beat him till he passed out.

By the time police arrived at the scene, he had died. His body was immediately moved to the morgue and friends and family members took to social media to demand justice.

The NIDCOM boss who was on top of the matter said the event happened two days ago and was under investigation.

"The Nigerian mission in India has reported to the police and has demanded a full investigation on this incident which happened two days ago. We will keep on it and update. Sad!" she said.



"The immediate action is to officially report to the Indian Police. That has been done by the mission. The Nigerian Community in India are also involved. We advise all stay calm while we demand thorough investigations and await further updates," Abike added.
