My government won't tolerate anymore protest in Imo - Uzodinma

Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma has said that his government won't tolerate those staging incessant protests in the state.

Uzodinma was declare governor of Imo State on January, 14, 2020, by the Supreme Court which sacked Emeka Ihedioha from the position.

Since his swearing-in, series of protests have been staged in the state against the Supreme Court's decision.

Reacting to the protest, Uzodinma who addressed a joint rally staged for him by the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, and the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities, stated that his government won't tolerate protests in the state.

He said: “My government will do all within the ambits of the law to maintain peace and order; those who are engaging in these incessant protests must stop forthwith. I took an oath to maintain peace and protect the lives and property of the citizens, I will not fail to deal with any group causing a breach of the peace in the state.”
