I would be a Governor for all Bayelsans- Diri vows

Diri Diri

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Dri has promised to be a unifying Governor that will bring his people across various ethnic and political ties together.

He made this vow in a tweet where he sought for unity, solidarity across all fronts in order to move Bayelsa state forward.

Reacting to the events that led to his swear-in ceremony, Diri said:

"We do not take this for granted and I have given my word that we would build bridges and mend fences both within and across party lines.

I want to use this opportunity to call on my brothers and sisters in other parties to join hands with me to move our dear state forward."

Going further, Diri said his goal was to improve the quality of his peoples' lives for the benefit of the people, hence the call for unity.

"Bayelsa is for all of us to grow. Our priority is to improve the quality of lives of every Bayelsan and build a state that we all will be proud of; irrespective of our political affiliations, religion or local government," he reassured the people of the state.

The Governor also appreciated his predecessor and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Henry Dickson as he promised to keep consulting with him for the people's benefit.
