Nigerians have taken to the streets of Victoria Island, Lagos, in a protest demanding justice for George Floyd, an African-American who was killed in the United States.

Floyd lost his life while he was getting arrested by four white cops with one of them pinning him to the ground with a knee while he screamed: "I can't breathe". His lifeless body was later taken away by an ambulance.

A video from a surveillance camera which captured the incident went viral and sparked anger among Americans who took to the streets in demand for justice for the deceased.

The protest which started in Minnesota not only moved to other states in the US but has now spread to Australia and the UK.

Some Nigerians were spotted at Victoria Island today holding placards and banners with "Black Lives Matter" boldly written on them.

The placards also show that they are demanding justice for Floyd.
