FG is doing nothing over coronavirus - Senate

The Nigerian Senate has accused the Federal Government of doing nothing to prevent coronavirus from getting into the country.

Deputy Leader, Robert Ajayi Boroffice drew the attention of the Senate to what he described as the “loose arrangements” he noticed at the Nigerian airport on returning from a trip to South Africa.

According to him, it is more noticeable in the area where visitors are welcomed into the country.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan stated that while countries with better medical facilities are doing their best to prevent the virus, Nigeria is “busy doing nothing”.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has released the sum of N600 million to help prevent the spread of the virus to Nigeria.

Cases of the virus which has killed about 2801 people have been reported in Europe and America.
