Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has declared a sit at home order for May 30th.

May 30 marks 52 years since the declaration of Biafra republic in 1967 which led to a civil war in Nigeria.

To mark the day, Nnamdi Kanu ordered his people to observe a sit at home order to remember their heroes who fell during the war.

He shared on Facebook: "Aguiyi Ironsi was a former head of state but nobody remembers him because he was an Igbo man.

"MKO Abiola was not president, he wanted to be president and was killed, but the Nigerian government declared June 12 a remembrance day to honour him.

"The same people are telling us not to honour our fallen heroes, 3.5 million that were killed for Biafra.

"We must sit at home on 30th May and honour our heroes".
