Babangida sends message to government as he speaks on civil war

Former Military Head of States, Ibrahim Babangida has stated that enough was not done to push the efforts done by government in the past to sustain the unity of Nigeria.

Speaking in an interview on Channels TV, Babangida blamed authorities for failing to support the efforts put in place in the aftermath of the civil war.

Urging the Federal Government to do more on sustaining the country's unity, Babangida applauded the National Youth Service Corp, NYSC, and the Unity Schools set up by government.

“For example, the NYSC, unity schools.. I think we didn’t push it hard,” he said.

“We should have pushed all those hard so that people from different parts of the country can say that we met at unity schools together”.
