Amotekun Amotekun

Mobile policemen have hijacked a protest organised by Members of the Yoruba socio-Cultural group, the Odua Peoples’ Congress (OPC) and the Yoruba World Congress (YWC) .

MyNigeria gathered that members of the groups planned to stage a massive protest at Ojota over plans by the federal government to outlaw Amotekun, a security outfit organized by the South-West Governors.

The protest was scheduled to hold at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota.

Things did not go as planned when mobile policemen hijacked the protest venue codenamed "Amotekun Solidarity Walk," as early as 7am.

Due to the hijack of the protest by the police, aggrieved protesters took to the streets of Ojota to regroup and carry on with the protest.

The protest was scheduled to be staged in all six South-West states comprising Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti.
