The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the error that occurred on the membership registration form of a national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu.

The ruling party is currently conducting on-going registration and revalidation of party members.

Tinubu recently posted photos of his registration form shortly after taking part in the exercise. However, Nigerians raised some concerns after spotting an error on his form.

Observers noticed that the dates on the registration were wrong.

However, the party in a statement via Twitter stated that it had been notified about the public concerns over the issue.

The APC said the error has been corrected and signed by Tinubu's ward chairman with the date of registration put as February 6, 2021.

The party said:

''UPDATE: On the concerns raised by the public on the date on the APC registration slip of our National Leader, @AsiwajuTinubu, .. The error has been corrected and signed by his Ward Chairman with the date of registration as 6th February 2021.''Meanwhile, preparations for the APC membership revalidation exercise in Benue turned violent on Sunday, February 7, after some gunmen raided the party's secretariat in the Gboko South of the state.

The public secretary for the APC in the state, James Orgunga, disclosed that while some selected members were been trained by the party chairman, Tersoo Ahu, and other chieftains, the criminals came with weapons and caused mayhem, The Nation reported.

Orgunga said that during the attack, Ahu was seriously injured and was rushed to a public hospital in the area where he later died while receiving treatment.
