Unilorin student's murder suspects arrested

The prime suspects behind the murder of the 300-level Agricultural Science department student of the University of Ilorin, Olajide Omowumi Blessing have been apprehended by the operatives of the State Security Services in Kwara State.

Recall that the undergraduate was raped and murdered two weeks ago at her elder sister’s residence, in the Tanke area of Ilorin.

The development was condemned by the state Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the commissioner of police in the state, Mohammed Lawal Bagega, and Minister of Women Affairs, who all called for justice for Blessing.

Security sources disclosed that the prime suspects were arrested at different hideouts in Ilorin in the last four days.

Blessing was raped and murdered while her hands were tied and mouth gagged with a cloth and a note with the inscription “UNILORIN doesn’t forgive” was found placed on her chest.

In another development, popular Nigerian actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, also known as Baba Ijesha, will appear before the Magistrate Court 1, Yaba, today (Wednesday) by 9 am.

Recall that the actor was arrested by the police for sexually harassing a 14-year-old girl, the foster daughter of comedienne, Princess.
