Traders at the Chinese Village in Lagos have cried out over poor patronage by customers following the news of the confirmation of coronavirus in Nigeria.

Coronavirus was first confirmed in Nigeria when an Italian man travelled to the country for a business meeting which he attended in Ogun State before falling ill.

He was immediately rushed down to Lagos where he tested positive to COVID-19 which first broke out in Wuhan, China.

Christopher Seun, a trader in Chinese Village who spoke to PUNCH, revealed that they are currently witnessing low patronage since the confirmation of the virus in Nigeria.

He said the few customers who manage to show up for business still avoid contact with the few Chinese people at the market. According to him, they would rather interact with the Nigerian workers employed by the Chinese.

Another trader at the market, Emmanuel Abanum stated that coronavirus outbreak has affected their business because most goods they ordered from China are taking longer to arrive.
