Social distancing is impossible in urban areas - Yahaya Bello

Yahaya Bello Yahaya Bello

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has said that practising social distancing is impossible in most urban areas in Nigeria.

Kogi and Cross Rivers are the only two states on Nigeria yet to record any case of COVID-19 since the virus was recorded in the country.

In reaction to the social distancing as canvassed by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control, NCDC, Yahaya Bello said:

”The NCDC must have noticed by now, social distancing is a practical impossibility in most urban areas in Nigeria including Kogi state. Many homes are multi-tenanted and many share same or one unitilies.”

The Logo State Government recently stated that it is under pressure to declare COVID-19 cases in the state.

Some NCDC officials who were sent to help boost the state's testing capacity returned back to Abuja after the governor told them to isolate for two weeks.
