The Nasarawa State Police Command has disclosed that it has arrested six suspected internet fraudsters for allegedly defrauding residents of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ramhan Nansel, made the disclosure in a statement on Sunday, August 8, 2021.

According to him, the suspects rented a four-bedroom apartment at the GRA Keffi, where they engaged in cybercrime.

“Based on credible and duly processed intelligence, police personnel attached to the Keffi area command got information about six suspected fraudsters. We raided their hideout and we were able to recover 22 laptops, computer mouses, laptop chargers and extension boxes,” he stated.

The PPRO also disclosed that a Honda CRV, with number plate, Abuja YAB 458 DC, which was stolen from Ajaokuta, Kogi State, and brought to Nasarawa State by a suspected car thief, was recovered by officers of the command.

He explained that the vehicle was intercepted by police officers who mounted a stop and search at Gidan Kwano, along the Nasarawa-Loko Road in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.
