The police command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has arrested six suspects for alleged car-snatching and armed robbery in Kubwa and Garki areas of the territory.

Spokeswoman ASP Mariam Yusuf, in a statement on Sunday, said all the suspects were arrested within last week.

She said three of them were arrested during different coordinated intelligence operations by the anti-car theft unit of the command.

Yusuf said the suspects confessed to be members of a notorious syndicate terrorising the FCT.

She said the exhibits recovered from them were two silver-coloured Toyota Corolla, two silver-coloured Toyota RAV4 and one black Lexus.

Mariam said Operatives from Kubwa Division had arrested a four-man robbery gang around the Kubwa Garden axis.

She said the suspects were arrested after robbing their victims but added that one of the gang members sustained gunshot injuries in a bid to escape.

Yusuf said the suspect with gunshot injuries was taken to the hospital where the doctor confirmed him dead while receiving treatment.

She said the other gang members confessed to being responsible for terrorising the Kubwa axis.
