Police arraign kidnap suspect Wadume for terrorism, murder

The Nigerian Police Force has on Monday arraigned Bala Hamisu, a popular kidnapper who is also known as Wadume.

Wadume was arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal Hogh Court in Abuja on charges bordering on terrorism, kidnapping, murder, possession of illegal arms.

Wadume was the high profile kidnapper who was arrested in Taraba State by police in August 2018. The vehicle which was conveying him was rained with bullets by some soldier on Ibi Wakuri road. Three police officers and a civilian lost their lives in the shooting.

The suspect who was arrested 13 days later confessed that the soldiers took him to a house in Kano where the cuff on him was cut off. The Nigerian Army has since denied the allegation against their officers.
