One dies, five injured in Osun road crash

A man has been confirmed dead and five others injured in a road accident that occurred near Ikeji Arakeji along Ilesa-Akure Expressway in Osun State.

The accident, which occurred on Thursday and was linked to speed limit violation and wrongful overtaking, involved a car and a truck.

The Osun Sector Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Agnes Ogungbemi, confirmed the accident.

Ogungbemi explained that the accident occurred after one of the vehicles heading towards Akure made a wrong overtaking and lost control.

She added “The corpse of the deceased was taken to the Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, by the FRSC patrol team and the Osun State Ambulance Scheme. Those injured were also taken to the same hospital for treatment.”
