Man rescued after jumping into the lagoon killed his girlfriend - Police

The Lagos State Police Command has stated that the Uber passenger, Princewill David, who was rescued from the lagoon on February 26, 2020, did so after killing his girlfriend

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, David.

According to him, Princewill killed his girlfriend after having an altercation with her in a hotel before he tried to take his life by jumping into the lagoon.

The suspect who tried to escape justice hired an Uber from Igando then told the driver to stop on getting to Third Mainland Bridge before he jumped into the lagoon.

He was immediately rescued by police who found him after he landed on logs of wood instead of inside the water.

When questioned on why he decided to take his life, Princewill said he had been dumped by his girlfriend, a claim that has been found to be false.
