It was surely not the kind of Sunday service some Kenyan congregation were expecting after they watched their pastor murder his wife before killing himself in Mombasa city, Kenya.

BBC reported that the preacher, Elisha Misiko, was seated on the front pew when he walked over to his wife Ann Mghoi - who was at the pulpit - and stabbed her using knives hidden under his shirt.

He then stabbed himself in the stomach and slit his throat as congregants rushed to the pulpit.

He died on the spot while his wife died in hospital.

The couple who had been separated were both founders of the church and the killing was reportedly as a result of a suspected conspiracy.

According to the BBC, The couple had a quarrel over who should be in charge of the church and in the suicide notes the husband left, he accused his wife of infidelity and plotting to edge him out of the church's adding that she denied him contact with their four children after separation.
