2021 for many is a year of hope. It was supposed to be the year that eases the pain of people who suffered globally when the novel coronavirus was at its peak. While 2021 has not necessarily lived up to its billing, you must admit that it has been way better than the previous.

In Nigeria, the year has been the same. The country is in stagnation. Stakeholders in the political and economic space have done little or less to ensure the burden of poverty is lifted from every single Nigerian.

As countries across the globe debate economic reforms, educational reforms, security and several other interventions aimed at rescuing their people from the scourge of the coronavirus, Nigerians have been left to debate whether or not they want to maintain a united Nigeria.

The poor are getting poorer while the elites are doing what they always do. Talk, loot and share.

While millennials still hope 2021 will make a difference, the year is gradually winding up. Nigerians took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to welcome the seventh month of the year.
