Gunmen attack police station in Ibadan, kill officer

The Ikolaba police station in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, was stormed on Friday, August 20, 2020 by some unknown gunmen.

Sources reveal that the gunmen killed a police officer on duty, after gaining entry to the police station.

The gunmen caught the officers unaware as they shot sporadically into the station.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO), of the state Police command, Gbenga Fadeyi confirmed the attack to MyNigeria.

According to him, there are no details as to whether the police officer who was shot at has lost his life.

“Yes, we just got information that our police station was attacked but I haven’t got details of the officer allegedly killed.

“We have deployed men to the area and as soon as more details are available, we will get back to you,” he said.
