Eight men have been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, for selling Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board forms above the official price.

Lagos State Commandant, Mr Cyprian Otoibhi told journalists that the suspects sold the forms for N6,500 and N8,000 which is above the official price of N4,700.

A joint operation with JAMB led to the arrest of the suspects identified as Bamiro Oluwaseun, Subair Adewale, Oshikoya Segun, Victor Faith, Olayinka Oluwashina, Elvis Okarafor, Igwoku Luckson, and Ajetumobi Olufemi.

The suspects operated their cyber cafes within Ikotun in the Alimosho Local Government Area of the state, despite JAMB only approving 71 centers for sale of forms.

He said, “A thorough investigation by the Lagos Command of the NSCDC revealed that the cyber cafes being operated by the suspects were not on the list of centres accredited by JAMB to sell its forms.’’

Otoibhi added that NSCDC officials were able to make the arrest by going to the cyber cafes disguised as prospective applicants.
