DSS speaks on arresting the sons of CJN Tanko

The Department of State Services, DSS, has denied arresting Sirajo and Sanni Tanko, the sons of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN Muhammad Tanko.

Reports online had claimed that the sons of the CJN were arrested in an attempt to force him to reverse the judgment given by the Supreme Court concerning the Bayelsa State gubernatorial election.

The Apex Court overturned the victory declared for David Lyon of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and declared Diri Douye of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as governor of the state.

Reacting to the news of the arrest of the sons of the CJN, DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, in a chat with newsmen, described it as false.

“They were not arrested; we didn’t arrest the two sons of the CJN.” he said.
