COVID-19: Wave off electricity and water bills of citizens - Shehu Sani tells African govts

Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has advised all African governments to wave off the electricity and water bills incurred by their citizens due to COVID-19.

With cases of the deadly virus increasing daily in Africa, many governments have ordered their citizens to stay at home to help curb the spread.

To cushion the effect of the order, the government of Niger Republic waved off electricity and water bills of its citizens.

Shehu Sani who reacted to the development advised other governments in Africa to emulate the gesture.

He tweeted: "The decision of the Government of Niger Republic to wave off electricity and water bills for its citizens to cushion the effect of the stay at home and stay safe directives is commendable. All African Governments should emulate this kind gesture".
