The remains of a kidnapped revenue cashier in Benue State's Katsina-Ala Local Government Area has been recovered.

A month ago, Joseph Myaan was captured but efforts to locate his whereabouts were unsuccessful.

According to reliable sources, his corpse was discovered in a shallow grave on Wednesday, January 6, in Akpera, a suburb of Tongov community in Katsina-Ala.

Security agents and a politician led the search for his body.

“The remains of Myaan have been deposited in the Katsina-Ala General Hospital morgue,” the source said.

The incident was also confirmed by the Chairman of Kastina-Ala LGA, Alfred Atera, who added that the deceased was a staff member of the council.

DSP Catherine Anene, the state's Police Public Relations Officer, said the command had yet to receive any report on the matter.
