Some bandits have invaded Dorayi in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing a Fulani Chief, Ardon Birni, Keyawe of Zazzau Emirate, Alhaji Shuaibu Mohammed, and his four children.

A family source said the bandits, numbering about five, invaded the residence Saturday night at about 10pm.

The wife of the deceased, Malama Halima Shuaibu, said “The Ardo was brought out of his bedroom and shot twice on his head. He died on the spot.”

She added that the bandits went from room to room in the compound and killed her four children who were married with children.

She identified the slain children as Adamu Shuaibu, Musa Shuaibu, Abubakar Shuaibu and Ibrahim Haruna.

She also said after attacking the compound, the bandits also rustled over 100 cattle.

Also narrating the ugly incident, the only survivor of the attack among Ardo’s children, Abdurrahman Shuaibu, said the bandits shot two other people on their way out of the village.

When contacted, the Kaduna State Police Public Relation Officer, Muhammad Jalige, said he had yet to get the details of the incident from the DPO Zaria City.

Meanwhile, operatives of Katsina Police Command, in conjunction with hunters and vigilantes on Saturday, raided no fewer than six terrorists' camps in Batsari and Jibia Local Government Areas of the state, killing five terrorists in the operation.

An 18- year-old suspected notorious terrorist identified as Abubakar Idris was also arrested in the operation.

Police sources confirmed that 38 cows, 40 sheep and 65 goats were also recovered in the operations.

The operations were carried out at Marake, Garin Yara and Garin Labo villages, all in Batsari Local Government Area and at the camp of an alleged terrorist leader known as Audu Lankai in the Jibia Local Government Area.

The command’s spokesman, Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
