Nigerian journalist, Agba Jalingo, facing trial for alleged treason, has been granted the sum of N10 million bail.

Jalingo was granted bail on the condition that his surety makes a refundable deposit of N700,000 to the court registry to perfect the bail conditions.

This is coming less than 24 hours after an Abuja Federal High Court ordered the Department of State Services to pay Sahara Reporters Publisher, Omoyele Sowore N200,000 over late filing of amended charges.

Jalingo, the publisher of CrossRiverWatch, was denied bail twice. He published a report alleging that Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, diverted N500 million from the state’s treasury.

He has been remanded in custody for close to a year, since August 22, 2019.
