Amotekun arrests man for possession of illegal firearms in Osun

A 27 year old man, Oyelade Lukman has been arrested by personnel of the Osun Amotekun Corps for illegally possessing firearms.

Oyelade according to the Osun Amotekun Commander Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Monday was arrested in Ajijola Anabi Area, Ede, Osun State.

The statement revealed that, "He was apprehended in the middle of the night after a complaint was lodged against him by the residents of the area and the operatives of Amotekun swung into action and arrested him with the firearms.

"The firearms found in his possession are two long barrels guns, one locally made iron revolver seven rounds, barrels gun cut to size, one locally made revolver four rounds barrel gun cut to size, and one locally iron-made double barrel gun cut to size."

Adewinmbi also disclsoed that during the cross-examination, "the suspect confessed to perpetrating crimes and that the firearms were kept in his possession by Taye Fumble a notorious thug in Ede.

"The suspect has been handed over to the Police for subsequent Investigation and interrogation."
