Alaafin of Oyo welcomes baby with his youngest wife, Damilola

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III has welcomed a baby with his youngest wife, Damilola.

The wife made the announcement by taking to her social media page with the first photo of the baby.

he wrote: “Alliamdullillai on my newborn baby boy congratulations to me Omo oba ti de.”

The Alaafin of Oyo made news headlines after he welcomed three sets of twins in the space of eight months.

Recently, the monarch celebrated his 49th year on the throne.

The monarch who was crowned on the 14th of January, 1971, took to social media where he showed gratitude to all those who have been standing by him since mounting the throne.

He shared on Instagram;

"This day in history, 14th of January, 1971, I His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, Iku Baba Yeye, ascended the throne as the 43rd Alaafin of Oyo. It has been 49 eventful years. I thank Olodumare, Ayabas, good people of Oyo and everyone who have passed on to the great beyond and living for having stood by me all these years, my prayer is that Olodumare will continue to bless you all".

Some of the Alaafin's queens also took to social media to celebrate him.

Olori Memunat Owowumi Adeyemi shared on Instagram:

Olori Badirat Olaitan Adeyemi shared:

"Happy 49th Coronation Anniversary to the Custodian of Yoruba Culture and Tradition. You have preserved the reference of the empire... Yorubas and Yoruba Race are proud of the glitz and glamour you have added to the rich ancestral heritage of the race... Next Year we party hard".
