Umar Sani, a former aide to former Vice President Namadi Sambo, has penned a reply to Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, who threatened a N1 billion libel suit against him.

DAILY POST reports on Monday that Otedola had instructed his lawyer to slam a N1 billion suit against Umar Sani over his comment linking him to fuel subsidy fraud under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Otedola described Sani’s hit back at him as “malicious lies.”

In responding to Otedola’s threat on X, Sani said that the courts are institutions no Nigerian of good conscience should fear to approach.

“I will be on Arise TV at 3 p.m. to respond to these assertions. The courts are institutions no Nigerian of good conscience should ever fear to approach,” he wrote on Monday.

Recall that Otedola had claimed that N2 trillion was siphoned through questionable subsidy claims under Jonathan.

In reply to Otedola, Sani described the businessman’s claim as a “hypocritical, selective, and convenient rewriting of history,” noting that he was a beneficiary of the subsidy fraud.
