Gov't working on alternative source of power for Nigerians – Minister

Minister of Power, Alhaji Saleh Mamman has said that the government is working on alternative sources of power for the sake of communities not connected to the national grid.

This was part of the Ministers message on Tuesday, July 20 in Jalingo as Muslims celebrated the Eld-el-Kabir.

Mamman urged Nigerians to embrace peace, insisting that only peaceful coexistence would bring development. He also called for agitators should give peace a chance and contribute to the ‘one Nigeria’s project’, NAN reports.

Recall we reported the Federal Ministry of Power through one of the agencies under its supervision, the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), launched the implementation for the 5 million off-grid solar connections programme (Solar Power Naija).

This initiative also includes about N140 billion which will be provided in concessionary financing from the Central Bank of Nigeria and the commercial bank, Nairametrics said.
