Social media platforms have revealed why the viral video of US-based physician, Stella Immanuel, was deleted yesterday.

The video which was first shared on Breibart showed a group of doctors addressing newsmen in Washington.

Immanuel who was one of them revealed that she has cured over 350 COVID-19 patients using antimalarial drug, hydroxychloroquine and zinc.

“We’ve not lost one patient. And on top of that, I’ve put myself, my staff, and many doctors that I know on hydroxychloroquine for prevention because by the very mechanism of action, it works early and as a prophylaxis", he said.

Immanuel who revealed that she has been threatened for her claim went on to double down on it.

“This virus has a cure. It is called hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and Zithromax", she said.

Hours after it landed on various social media platforms and got over 14 million views, the video was deleted by Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.

“We’re taking action in line with our COVID misinfo policy,” a Twitter spokesperson told CNN after it had been retweeted by US President Donald Trump.

A Facebook spokesperson revealed that the video contained false information about COVID-19.

“We’ve removed this video for sharing false information about cures and treatments for COVID-19,” the spokesman told CNN.

He added that Facebook is “showing messages in News Feed to people who have reacted to, commented on or shared harmful COVID-19-related misinformation that we have removed, connecting them to myths debunked by the WHO.”

The video was also pulled down from Youtube. Users who tried to access it were told that it was removed for “violating YouTube’s Community Guidelines.”
