Nigeria's Minister of Power, Engr. Sale Mamman has revealed the problems bedeviling the power sector.
In a viral video circulated by Oak TV, Mamman delved deep into the generational issue that has held Nigeria by the neck for several years.
He revealed that Nigeria has the capacity to indeed generate 13,000 megawatts.
Sale's words: "We can generate 13,000 MW, but we transmit 7,000 MW and end up distributing only 3,000 MW. So there is a lot of work to be done on transmission companies. The government is, however, willing to take up the matter."
The Power Minister said distribution has been an age-long problem.
"The transmission can only take 7,000MW. Even at that, they collect 4,500MW before sending it to distribution. Distribution now receives 3,000 due to technical and commercial losses. They cannot contain the whole light that has been generated," the Minister explained on their behalf.
