Yobe to experience electricity downtime today- TCN

A planned power outage is scheduled to occur on the Damaturu Transmission Substation, today, the Transmission Company of Nigeria has revealed.

According to a notice filed by the power transmission company, the outage will occur between 10 am to 2 pm today, Saturday, 25th January 2020 for routine maintenance.

As a result of this maintenance exercise, a total blackout will occur during the 5 hour period since the only alternative- the Biu/Maiduguri 132KV line was destroyed by Boko Haram Insurgents.

TCN apologized for the inconvenience customers would face.

"TCN regrets inconveniences caused by this problem to electricity consumers in the affected areas," the notice read.
