Joel Idah Daniel founded Solutions Platforms Nigeria, a pan-African organization that has provided services in the Education Industry for the past 10 years.
Could you tell us about your company?
Solutions Platforms is an education management resource based in Lagos, Nigeria, and has been in operation for 10 years.
We provide tutoring and advisory services to students across Africa and are equipped with the necessary educational tools which aid candidates' learning experience to attain their desired tests score.
This places them in a more favorable position to earn scholarships from schools to which they apply.
Our services include standard tests registration and preparations, admission processing into universities/colleges in the USA, Canada, UK, and Australia, visa advisory and private tutorials online and onsite.
Could you briefly describe your business model?
Ours is a B2C – business-to-consumer model. Our company facilitates flexible learning by use of a blended learning model which leverages the combination of in-person instruction techniques, teacher-led online modules, and self-paced learning through our Digital platform solutionsplatform.com.
Have your operations been affected by the ongoing pandemic?
Due to the educational needs created by the pandemic, our platform developed a
hybrid model which combined both physical and remote learning.
We have achieved proficiency in the latter through our recently launched online educational platform solutionsplatforms.com, which reduced the need for in-person tutoring for the safety of both students and tutors involved. It also reduced the number of students experiencing our physical tutoring.
We aim to help all students regardless of their abilities or disabilities, which is why our platform is structured to also cater to special-needs children who require in-person tutoring (we understand that they are the most affected by the pandemic).
What are the long-term ambitions you’re aiming for, as a company?
As of today, Solutions platforms is a pan-African organization with the ultimate goal of improving educational standards across Africa using technology. We advise and prep candidates for national and standard tests required to aid their placement into desired Universities/Colleges and secure scholarships across boarders.
By 2025, we hope to have a mega 16+ Academy, offering a mix of A-levels and other standardized tests. Simply put, we will be setting up a bridge between high school leavers and the university. It will come down to mentoring and preparing candidates for advanced education.
What is your platform’s growth strategy for 2022?
Partnering with organizations to ensure more African students are successful in
various examinations like A-Levels and improving our facility to ensure a more
comfortable learning environment.
Also improving on our flagship online product solutionsplatforms.com and our social media presence. Solutions Platforms is expanding its capacity to create an improved physical facility. Some of these strategies have already commenced.
How will Africa develop as a knowledge economy in 2022 and how can companies contribute?
Given our line of work, we understand better than most that knowledge is the
currency in our current tech-driven world.
As a company, we are motivated to increase and improve the process of that knowledge transfer, even as it evolves.
Human capital in the growth of any economy is of inestimable value, as we have seen in the development of Singapore. What can African companies do better Locate potential and feed it with the right knowledge?
