The Rivers State Government has said the proposed 5,000 jobs for youths into the state civil service will be ready before the end of 2021.

The Commission for Youths, Ohia Obi, disclosed this in Port Harcourt, the state capital, ahead of the International Youths Day slated for August 12.

Obi said the state government was taking its time to ensure that those who will get the jobs are youths from the state.

“A lot of persons that are not from this state used whatever means that they have to apply for the same jobs. Now if the Rivers State Government is in a hurry to give out this employment and at the end of the day we have 3,000 out of the 5,000 as non-indigenes, you will be the one to complain,” he added.
