Restrictions on international flights in Nigeria not lifted - US Embassy

The US Embassy has reminded travellers that the restrictions on international flights in Nigeria have not been lifted.

In a statement issued on Twitter, the US Embassy said that the information became necessary following the continued sales of tickets for travels to and from Nigeria.

It also revealed that commercial airlines will not be allowed to land in Nigeria until further notice from the government.

The statement reads: "Despite international airports being closed for all flights, online sales of tickets for some airline travel to/from Nigeria have continued.

"Over the past several months, many tickets were sold in anticipation of the resumption of international flights which has not yet occurred.

"The U.S. Mission Nigeria strongly recommends travellers to remain abreast of international flight restrictions in Nigeria.

"Airlines will not have authorization to land commercial international flights in Nigeria until the Federal Gov".
