The demand for electricity has taken a new turn in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, as youths of the community have refused to pay for the Discos ineptitude.

As sighted on Twitter by Nigeria, the youths of the community designed a banner tagged Operation no light, no bill, no payment movement against the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company which services customers in Awka, Anambra and Owerri states.

According to the youths, they promised not to pay for blackout if the electricity distribution company failed to find a solution to the protracted darkness Imo state has been experiencing for days.

With a catchphrase that read: "We can't continue to pay for darkness, the youths drew a battle line between themselves and EEDC.

Reacting to the development, Made in Mbaise said, 'Eziobodo and Umuchima should join the movement."

@OctaviusPaschal agreed that light has been elusive in the state for a while now.

"I live in ihiagwa, and I swear we've not seen light for a while now. Some say pole fell somewhere shaa," he said.
