Following an official licensing granted by Jordan's government late last year, telecom operator, Orange Group, has propelled its mobile e-wallet service which is set to operate through Petra Mobile Payment Services Company

According to Verdict, the e-wallet service will allow users to carry out financial transactions such as payment of bills, transfer of money, online shopping, and recharging mobile prepaid credit anywhere and anytime.

Orange revealed that it plans to spread its tentacles across the world in the financial services sector in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, besides expanding the presence of Orange Bank in Europe.

The firm has introduced an Engage2025 strategy and the e-wallet service is only one out of many initiatives of the firm.

Orange Money chairman Raslan Deiranieh said: “Orange Money is a modern solution that eases life by providing high-quality financial services to meet the different needs of users in the local market.”

According to Orange Group, the firm has improved financial inclusion in 17 countries through its financial solutions that currently serve 45 million customers.

The Verdict also revealed that although Orange Money service is currently available in Niger, it exited the mobile market last November.
