Nigerians returning from abroad will not be allowed to self-isolate - Onyeama

Geoffrey Onyeama Geoffrey Onyeama

Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has said that Nigerians returning from abroad will not be allowed to self-isolate.

Onyema stated this while speaking at the daily press briefing organized by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

“We will not accept the request to self-isolate because it will be difficult to monitor them. That is our position,” he said.

Onyeama also stated that the returning Nigerians must have opted to self-isolate due to the limited amount of bed spaces in the country's isolation centers.

“The truth is that we do not have enough isolation centres and bed spaces.

”We are looking for hotels in Lagos and I have spoken to the Governor of Lagos. If we can get some, that’ll be fine,” the Minister added.
