Nestlé Nigeria reports N50.6bn profit

Nestlé Nigeria Plc has reported a profit after tax of N50.6bn for the six months ended June 30, 2025, reversing a loss of N176.9bn in the same period of 2024.

The company’s unaudited interim financial statements showed revenue increased by 43 per cent to N581.1bn from N407bn in the corresponding period last year.

Operating profit rose to N130.4bn from N63.1bn, while profit before income tax improved significantly to N88.4bn from a loss of N252.5bn.

For the second quarter alone, Nestlé posted a profit of N20.4bn on revenue of N286.2bn, compared with a loss of N34.2bn on N223.5bn revenue in the second quarter of 2024.

The company’s cost of sales increased to N356.2bn from N279.7bn, while marketing and distribution expenses rose to N73.7bn from N51bn.

Administrative expenses stood at N21.5bn, up from N13.6bn in the previous year.

Net finance costs decreased sharply to N42bn from N315.6bn in the prior period.

Total comprehensive income for the period was N50.6bn, improving from a loss of N26.9bn in the first half of 2024.

Nestlé Nigeria’s total assets stood at N899.7bn as of June 30, 2025, compared with N858.7bn at the end of 2024.

The company’s accumulated losses reduced to N192.7bn from N243.2bn, but total equity remained negative at N41.7bn.

Basic earnings per share were N63.80 for the period under review, up from a loss per share of N223.19 in the same period last year.
