The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced a second consecutive reduction in the pump price of petrol within a single week.
As of Wednesday, reports indicate that the new price is now N890 per litre, a decrease from the previous N895, reflecting a N5 drop.
In response, NNPCL-operated retail outlets in strategic locations such as Kubwa Expressway, Gwarimpa, and Wuse Zone 4 have already implemented the new pricing. This latest adjustment follows closely on the heels of an earlier price reduction by the same state-run oil company.
Meanwhile, retail stations operated by Dangote Refinery’s partners—including AP Ardova, Optima, MRS, and Bovas—are offering fuel slightly cheaper at N885 per litre.
Industry insiders have cautioned that fuel prices could continue to experience volatility amid the ongoing deregulation of Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas sector.
