The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has disclosed that its job application portal has now crashed due to an ‘unprecedented’ rice in traffic after it announced a recruitment exercise for qualified candidates, with the deadline on August 20.

A quick check showed that the state-owned oil firm’s website was displaying server error messages.

Reacting to the situation on its X handle on Friday, July 26, 2024, the company said it was working to get the website running again.

The statement read: “Due to unprecedented traffic to the NNPC Ltd. career page from applicants applying for vacancies, the site is currently experiencing slow load times.

“Our technicians are working diligently to rectify the problem as quickly as possible. Please be assured that the application process deadline remains August 20, 2024.”

NNPC also promised applicants of a transparent and recruitment process that is based on merits.

NNPCL urged interested applicants to submit their applications through its official website, https://careers.nnpcgroup.com.

This is the first recruitment exercise since it fully transformed into a limited company in 2022.
