The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Transport Fare Watch report for March 2024, has revealed the states that have the highest Okada fares in Nigeria.

According to the report, the average fare for Okada transportation per drop in Nigeria saw a modest year-on-year increase of 2.15%, reaching N472.16, up from N462.21 recorded in March 2023.

The report also indicated that the fares in Lagos, Ondo, and Taraba states however, were significantly higher than the national average during the same month.

Below is the list of states with highest fares per journey:

1. Lagos - N850

2. Ondo - N725

3. Taraba - N670

4. Imo - N655

5. Yobe - N630

Here's the list of states with lowest average fare:

1. Anambra - N240

2. Bayelsa - N270.

3. Niger - N300

4. Edo - N320

5. Sokoto - N360

The data provided in the NBS Transport Fare Watch report indicates that the South-West was the zone with highest average fare for Okada transportation with an average of N544.17, a 4.93% increase from March 2023, and a 0.62% increase from February 2024.

The next zone with highest average transport fare for Okada transportation in March 2024 was the North-East with an average of N509.17 per drop.
