Sen. Hezekiah Dimka (APC – Plateau Central) says there is hope for Nigeria in spite of its many challenges.

Dimka gave the encouragement in his Democracy Day message to Nigerians on Saturday.

He said that with collective efforts by governments and citizens, there would be light at the end of the tunnel.

The lawmaker said that insurgency, kidnapping, banditry and other crimes as well as economic hardships bedeviling the country would soon give way for a greater Nigeria.

He said that the challenges had tested the elasticity of Nigerians’ patience.

“The people must remain united.

“We cannot but channel our energies to concrete dialoguing between and among the various regions and ethnic groups that make up the federation.

“It is only in understanding our differences that we can appreciate where we should be.

“Another Democracy Day has come; there is no better way to be part of it than to join millions of Nigerians in celebrating this unique day,” he said.

He said that prayers and counsel for leaders would go a long way to guide them alright.

“Fully mobilised and awakened by various suggestions and, in some cases, criticisms, we have not gone to sleep and abandoned the responsibilities placed on our shoulders.

“I am not resting on my oars, there is a lot of grounds to cover before we get to the destination.

“I am determined to do more, bearing in mind that we are in this together, and we can do better with improved resources,” he added.
