The Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Allen Onyema has revealed the details of how he turned down a life-changing offer from Ethiopian Airlines.

Onyeama in an interview on Wednesday, June 14 said he rejected the offer because he couldn't stand and watch Nigeria's aviation sector suffer.

He comment comes following the controversy that has surrounded the launching of Nigeria Air and Former Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika.

He said: "What Ethiopia are doing with the national carrier is what they wanted to do with me but for the love of country, I turned it down."

"April 10, 2019, in a letter, they came to me that they wanted Air Peace to collaborate with them, they took us to Addis Ababa and we signed an MoU."

"And they said in the MoU that we ( Ethiopia Airways) need to push a Golf Carriers, I said no problem. We tried to collaborate then when we got to the nitty-gritty of the meeting, what they wanted was to come into this place (Nigeria), do local flying then use Air Peace concierge to fly the whole world - about 150 locations while paying me royalty."

"And I said where does this leave my country? In the letter k wrote to them, I said, where does this leave my country Nigeria. You will destroy the jobs in Nigeria, you kill the other airlines and Allen and Air Peace will be growing and swimming in millions of dollars."

"So we rejected it in a letter. It’s documented and it’s in court today."
