Give us valid information to ensure your safety - COAS urges Nigerians

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Nigeria, Maj. Gen. Farouk Yahaya has encouraged members of the local communities to join in the fight against insecurity.

According to Maj. Yahaya, the criminals the government and security agencies are fighting against live within the communities, so it is best if everyone joins in the fight to make sure they face the full grips of the law.

He also added that the Nigerian army also conducted quick interventions programs to help civil authorities in areas such as schools and hospitals by providing good water and roads for them.

“What the community can do every time is to give the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and all security agencies across-board the relevant information that could lead us to squarely addressing these security challenges that are bedevilling us.

“The criminals live within us, sometimes we know them, those who are involved in kidnapping, cattle rustling and robbery.

“I urge you to continue to support us and other security agencies because we work together so that we can bring peace and security all across Nigeria to enable us all to go about our normal businesses without hindrance.

“Be law-abiding and report criminals around so that those saddled with the responsibility can do it,” he said.
